Lakeshore Lions Charities Foundation Baton Rouge

It is the goal of the Foundation to give back to the community which has given so much to each of us. We ask your consideration to allow us to direct charitable support to the needs of our mutual society.

The Lakeshore Lions Charities Foundation, Inc.  has been established to accept tax free deductible (501c3) donations for the support of the stated mission of the Lakeshore Lions Club of Baton Rouge.

One hundred percent of all donations are directed to support local agencies engaged in charitable missions in the state and local area. Funds are also dispensed to individuals and families with special needs (after verification and screening of the applications).

The Lakeshore Lions Charitable Foundation has a tiered ranking of charitable donations:

Tier 1: Louisiana Lions Club activities:

• The Louisiana Lions Camp for children in Leesville, LA has sessions for mentally challenged, physically challenged and diabetic children.
• The Louisiana Eye Foundation provides eyeglasses as well as testing sessions for ages 1 to 6 yrs old. These tests have identified up to 12-15 percent of the children having eye problems previously undetected.

Tier 2: Local / Regional charitable agencies with wide public impact:

• Affiliated Blind
• Regional Eye Bank
• Food Bank
• Leader Dog for the Blind
• Salvation Army
• St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
• St. Vincent DePaul

Tier 3: Local / Regional Charitable agencies with specific impact:

• Individuals or families with verifiable specific needs screened for approval. Recent examples include:
•   Down payment assistance for mobile home lost in flood.
• Assistance to family enduring loss of home and child in fire
• Assistance to place homeless family into permanent home
• Wheelchair ramp for invalid family member
• YMCA
• Methodist Children's Home
• Brave Heart

Tier 4: Non recurring activities worthy of available Foundation support:

• Keep Tigertown Beautiful
• OLOL Children's Hospital
• Toys for Tots
• Big Buddy
